Evolve Labs started with a 2pm lunch on a Tuesday.
Three friends, three different skillsets, one shared frustration among the founders:
Businesses everywhere are pouring money into AI and technology with no way to tell if any of it is working.
If 80% of AI projects fail and the problem is never the technology, why isn't anyone accountable for the results?
So we built Evolve Labs.
We are not another consulting firm that delivers slide decks and disappears.
We are a team that measures what your AI investments actually return,
finds where value is leaking, and gives meaning to the numbers.
We are based in Johannesburg. We consult across various industries and company sizes.
And we still have lunch on Tuesdays.
Tebogo is our pattern architect. She holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering (Wits University, South Africa), and a certification in Integrated Attachment Theory (PDS Canada): one lens for reading and optimising systems, another for reading the people who use them. It's part of the thinking behind how we find where AI ROI actually leaks, because the gap is rarely the technology in isolation.
Kavitha is our operational translator. With over 15 years of operational leadership across the Middle East and Africa, spanning mobility, gaming, and tourism, she has a proven instinct for finding where value leaks and building the systems that stop it. Her work has always sat at the intersection of people, process, and commercial outcome. She holds a BComm, Six Sigma Black Belt and soon an MBA.
Katharine is our resident data and technology expert, with a BSc in Computer Science and more than a decade of experience in software engineering, data science, and AI. With a PhD in Mathematics, she is also a global leader in cutting-edge quantitative research, with applications ranging from human genetics to climate change, and served as Uber’s first global head of sustainability analytics.
